Medical Standards

 The general medical standards required as per Defence Standards are as follows:

  • Good physical and mental health.
  • No bone/joint defects.
  • Minimum acceptable height is 157.5cm (162.5cm for Air Force).
  • Not overweight.
  • No sign of functional or organic disease of heart and normal blood pressure.
  • No hydrocele, vericele etc.
  • Eye sight should be 6/6 with/ without glasses. Myopia not more than 2.5 D and Hypermetropia not more than 3.5D.
  • Should not have undergone radial keratotomy for eye correction. However, any lasik done is acceptable.
  • Color vision standard C.P-II and able to recognized red and green colors.
  • Minimum of 14 dental points and not suffering from severe pyorrhea.
  • No visible tattoo on the body.
